V. pleasant staff and superbly comfortable room. The hotel garden was beautiful and well-tended, and the breakfast was excellent. This was olde-worlde luxury. We would happily have stayed on an extra day!
We had come to the hotel in order to visit friends in Stanton St. Q.: however, so far as we know, there is otherwise not much to do in the vicinity. The shower did not work well and the tiled bathroom floor became dangerously slippery when wet. Extra towels were needed.
The staff were excellent, could not do enough for you and nothing was too much trouble.
Comfort, cleanliness, building character, setting.
Breakfast ingredients surprisingly poor, e.g. sliced bread used for toast, flavourless bacon, coffee quality.
Staff very friendly and helpful. Service during wedding reception and evening was very good. Lovely quiet room. Lovely breakfast and lovely food during the wedding that we were attending.
We thought the room was expensive for what it was.and dark. We were situated above or near a loud fan, which was annoying during the night.
The setting was idyllic
Could not get whirlpool bath to work
Breakfast ,have stayed in many five star hotels breakfast here compares favourably, waitress excellent.
The location, the building and the gardens were very good. Our room was extremely comfortable and the food in the restaurant was good.
Although the food in the restaurant was good, the staff were somewhat less good. The waitresses would benefit from some training.
Visited several Cotswold villages, National trust venues and attended an open air concert
The room was a nice size and very comfortable with a good TV and freeview channles. The food and wine were good and the service at dinner and breakfast were also good.
I personally did not experience her but the lady meeting couples to discuss possible weddings was a bit loud and somewhat brash. From what I overheard (it was impossible not to overhear) she lacked style and subtelty. As a result I would not recommend this hotel as a possible wedding venue.
Menu said thick cut chips - what came was oven ready chips - horrible Service extremely slow tea was served in a dirty cup
Lovely hotel, friendly staff, very nice room, near to the Cotswolds without the crazy prices.
location for us as we were visiting wiltshire villages . very helpful and friendly staff .
noise from M4 . also room we were in [room 14] was noisy from overhead water tanks and the bathroom door did not shut.
Excellent, cannot fault it. Very friendly and helpful staff. Excellent accomodation. Breakfast and dinner of first class quality. We had an overnight stop on the way to Devon, very convenient location just off the M4. Wished we had stayed there longer than go to Devon. Our room on the ground floor had patio doors where we had chairs outside to relax and view the wonderful gardens.
A very nice traditional hotel set in an idyllic village and location, comfortable and quiet.
A touch of luxury at a reasonable price.
Only issue was an airlock in water system that made a noise at 3.30 in the morning. Staff were unaware of the problem but promised to get it sorted. i will be staying again when in the area on business.
